About

Formed in 2024, Attention Allies is a collective of 13 ADHD - and neurodivergent - informed independent therapists based in and around Bristol. The Allies have come together to form a network of independent therapists in order to make finding an ADHD-informed therapist a little bit easier. As an active and creative project, the Attention Allies deliberately question and challenge conventional structures and diagnostic frameworks around ADHD. Although the group’s philosophical foundations lie in a desire to “disrupt” oppressive systems imposed on people with ADHD (and related neurodivergent issues), they do not discount the need for medical interventions and connections with those who use a medical model of ADHD.

In addition to offering therapy and/or coaching sessions to people with ADHD, the individual therapist members of Attention Allies also provide ADHD informed supervision to other professional therapists and allied mental health professionals. We are currently developing new ways for delivering CPD training to help support colleagues update their working knowledge about ADHD and related neurotypes.

Attention Allies was founded by Duncan E. Stafford, an MBACP registered and accredited therapist with more than 30 years’ experience of working with ADHDers in various settings.
